God has not given us simply a vision for our church. He has given us a vision for His kingdom. We are transformed people transforming the world. The way we seek to accomplish the kingdom vision God has given us is through what we call the Core 4. The Core 4 are 4 passions God has given our church and they drive everything we do.
Ephesians 4:12 says that ministry is not for a certain group. Every follower of Jesus has been called to ministry. Our goal is to put the ministry of our church into the hands of God's people and release them to be the church in the world. This looks like students leading other students and reaching their friends. People in our church being empowered to start ministries & initiatives. Leaders multiplying and replacing themselves.
We are a church that plants other churches. So far, in our five years as a church, we have sponsored Connection Point church in Barbourville, supported the launch of Riverland Church in South Carolina, and last year we launched our second campus in Whitesburg! Every week, a portion of our offering goes to church planting through the North American Mission Board. Healthy things multiply. Our prayer is that God would allow us to be a part of raising up church planters to launch new churches in Eastern KY and beyond.
Jesus clearly called the church to go to the nations (Matt. 28:19-20). God is a global God, and we share His heart! We are currently in talks with a church in Mexico to form a church planting partnership. Our goal is to help churches internationally raise up local pastors to start churches that best reach the part of the world they are in. Every week, a portion of our offering goes to international missions and church planting through the International Mission Board. We also partner with Compassion International to help release children from poverty in Jesus' name. Our prayer is to see every tribe and tongue know and worship Jesus.
Our desire is to be a church for Eastern KY. We want to love and serve this region in Jesus' name. We do this through several partnerships with organizations in our community as well as ministries our church has started. Second Chance Mission that provides clothing and food items for need families. Celebrate Recovery to help those struggling with addiction. Through our Married People ministry we seek to help marriages inside our church and outside our church to be strong and healthy. We are praying for and looking for ways to serve our local schools and community college as well.
