what is the discipleship pathway?

At Summit, our mission is to be Transformed People who are Transforming The World. You might be wondering what does that look like practically for you? Or, what is your next step in following Jesus? The discipleship pathway provides a practical tool that shows every person at Summit what it looks like for them to be a growing disciple of Jesus.

What is a disciple?

A Disciple is someone who is:

Following Jesus (HEAD)

Being Changed By Jesus (HEART)

On Jesus' Mission (HANDS)

Following Jesus - Head [Taking responsibility for our own spiritual growth by daily surrendering to Jesus]

Having a daily time reading the Bible (Psalm 1, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Prioritizing our weekly worship service to worship with God's people, serve, and hearing the Bible preached (Acts 2:42-47)

Being Changed By Jesus - Heart [The process of becoming more and more like Jesus]

Confessing sin in our lives (Psalm 51, 1 John 1:9)

Asking God to be fill us with the Holy Spirit everyday (Ephesians 5:18, 2 Corinthians 14:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:19)

Knowing and believing God's promises and who I am in Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:20, Ephesians 1:3-14, Romans 8)

Joining a group (Serve Group or Life Group) because WE is better than ME. (Hebrews 3:12-13)

On Jesus' Mission - Hands [Being a Disciple who makes other Disciples]

Giving a portion of what God has given me to the church (Malachi 3:10, Matthew 6:19-24, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

Praying for the lost and that God would use our lives for His mission locally and around the world (Matthew 9:37-38, Matthew 28:18-20)

Living on mission wherever we are in the world (Ephesians 4:11-12)

Being Partners (members) who serve, pray, and give to see the vision of our church become a reality (Romans 12:4-8)
